Aftertaste has no account and no server. Your dishes, photos, notes, and the places you eat are stored only on your device. We don’t collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data — full stop.

Who we are

Aftertaste is developed by CKC Technologies Ltd. This policy explains how the app handles information when you use it on your iPhone.

Information stored on your device

Everything you create in Aftertaste is saved locally on your device and stays there:

• Dishes – the dish name, your verdict, any note you add, and the date.
• Photos – pictures you take or choose for a dish, stored inside the app’s private storage.
• Restaurants & places – the names of places you log dishes at, and, if you allow location, the coordinates captured at the time so the app can recognise the place later.
• Preferences – small settings such as whether you’ve completed onboarding and your Pro status.

This information is never sent to the developer or to any third-party server. We have no way to see it.

Location

If you grant “While Using the App” location access, Aftertaste uses your location for two things: to suggest the restaurant you’re currently at when logging a dish, and to recognise places you’ve logged before so it can surface your favourites when you return.

To turn a location into a place name, the app uses Apple’s built-in geocoding service; this means the coordinates are processed by Apple to return a nearby name, subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/). The resulting place name and coordinates are stored only on your device. Location is entirely optional – deny or revoke it at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services, and the app continues to work as a manual log.

Camera & photo library

The app requests camera access so you can photograph a dish, and photo-library access so you can choose an existing photo. Photos you select are copied into the app’s local storage and used only to illustrate your dishes. The app does not read, scan, or upload any other photos.

Purchases

Aftertaste Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit). Apple processes the payment; the developer never receives or stores your payment-card details. Purchase and restore are managed by your Apple ID. See Apple’s Privacy Policy (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/) for how Apple handles transactions.

What we do not do

• No accounts, logins, or profiles.
• No analytics, tracking, advertising, or third-party SDKs that collect data.
• No selling or sharing of your information – there is nothing collected to sell or share.
• No access to your contacts, health data, or browsing.

Third parties

The only third party involved is Apple, in its role as platform provider: geocoding location into place names, processing App Store purchases, and – if you enable it – including the app’s data in your device’s encrypted iCloud backup. The developer uses no other third-party services.

Data retention & deletion
Because your data lives only on your device, you are in full control of it:

• Delete an individual dish from its detail screen (this also removes its photo).
• Erase everything at once via the You tab → Erase all dishes.
• Delete the app to remove all of its data from your device.

Children’s privacy

Aftertaste is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone. As no data is collected at all, the app poses no data-collection risk to users of any age.

Security

Your data is protected by your device’s own security, including its passcode and Apple’s file-level encryption. Keeping your device and its operating system up to date is the best way to keep that data safe.

Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) and the CCPA (California) give you rights to access, correct, and delete your personal data. Since Aftertaste stores your data only on your device and the developer holds none of it, you can exercise these rights directly at any time using the deletion options above. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page and, where changes are significant, note them within the app or its App Store listing. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
