Pet Memorial is made by CKC Technologies Ltd (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Pet Memorial iPhone and iPad app.

The short version: we don’t collect anything. Pet Memorial has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. Everything you put into the app stays on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud account. We cannot see it.

1. Information we collect

None.

We do not operate any servers that receive your data. The app contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising SDK, and no social-media SDK. It makes no network requests to us, because there is nothing on our side to make them to.

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not know who you are.

2. Information the app stores on your device

Everything you add to Pet Memorial is stored locally on your device:

• Your pets’ names, species, and the colour you choose for their name
• Dates you enter: date of birth, gotcha day, and date of passing
• A resting place, if you choose to record one — this is a description you type and, optionally, a point you place on a map yourself
• Photos and videos you add, and any captions and albums you create
• Reminders you set, and when you’d like to be reminded

This information is yours. It is not transmitted to us, and we have no ability to access it.

About the map: Pet Memorial does not track your location. There is no GPS access and no location monitoring. If you record a resting place, you place that point on a map yourself, and the coordinates are stored with that pet’s record on your device exactly like any other detail you type in.

3. iCloud sync

If you are signed into iCloud and have iCloud enabled for Pet Memorial, your pets, photos, videos, albums and reminders sync between your own devices using Apple’s CloudKit private database.

This means your data is stored in your iCloud account, not ours. We do not have access to it, and it does not pass through any system we control. Apple’s handling of that data is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

If you prefer not to sync, you can turn iCloud off for Pet Memorial in iOS Settings. The app continues to work, storing everything locally on that device only.

4. Permissions the app asks for

Pet Memorial asks for these only when a feature needs them, and each is optional:

Notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device. They are not push notifications from a server, and we do not send you messages.

If you decline any of these, the rest of the app continues to work.

5. Sharing a pet with someone

Pet Memorial lets you export a pet as a .petmemorial file, which you can send to family however you choose — AirDrop, Messages, email, or any other method.

This only ever happens when you deliberately choose to do it. The file goes directly from you to whoever you send it to; it does not pass through us. Once you have shared a file, what happens to it is outside our control, so please share it only with people you trust.

6. Subscriptions and payment

Pet Memorial Premium is an auto-renewing subscription sold through the Apple App Store.

We never see your payment details. Apple processes the payment and tells the app only whether an active subscription exists. We do not receive your name, address, card details, or Apple Account information. Apple provides us with aggregate, anonymous sales figures — numbers of subscriptions by region — which cannot identify any individual.

Apple’s handling of your purchase is governed by Apple’s privacy policy and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

7. Children

Pet Memorial is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. Because we collect no data whatsoever, we do not knowingly or unknowingly collect personal information from children — there is no mechanism by which we could.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR and similar laws elsewhere, you have rights to access, correct, export and delete the personal data an organisation holds about you.

We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or erase. You are already in complete control of your own information:

• Access and export — everything is visible in the app, and any pet can be exported as a .petmemorial file
• Correction — edit any pet, memory, album or reminder at any time
• Deletion — delete a pet to remove it and all of its memories, albums and reminders. Deleting the app removes all local data. To remove synced data, delete it in the app while signed into iCloud, or manage Pet Memorial’s iCloud storage in iOS Settings

9. Data retention

We retain nothing, because we receive nothing. Your data lives on your device and in your iCloud account for exactly as long as you choose to keep it.

10. Changes to this policy

If we ever change how the app handles information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a future version of the app collects anything at all, we will say so clearly here and in the App Store privacy label before that version ships.
